Hi guys, this is my Live Online Japanese 104 Pre-Intermediate Course. The course is designed to be fun, interactive, and informative. You must be able to understand the basic Japanese the basic particles, te-form, short-form (nai-form), and how to converse in casual speech. (If you have done Japanese 103 you are eligible for this course)

I started with Sayaka-sensei and my classmates since 101/102 and I’ve learned so much in just little under a year. From barely being able to read hiragana and katakana, by the end of 104, we were all having casual conversations and picking up Japanese phrases from songs, TV shows, and anime.
The class is well paced and the content is laid out in a way that’s not overwhelming. If you’re practicing for the N5 or traveling to Japan in the near future, I highly Sayaka’s courses! 104 was definitely a challenging course. It provides an opportunity to get really comfortable with speaking casually as you will practice speaking a lot. I found the many different topics that were taught will be extremely useful on the day to day basis.

Having completed 102, 103 and 104, I can say that my Japanese has improved significantly.
104 is best taken immediately after taking 103, the most difficult of the courses from the sheer amount of grammatical information. Going from 103 to 104, I genuinely felt like I climbed over a difficult hill. As a kid, I used to try and teach myself but I would quickly get overwhelmed and unsure if what I was saying was correct. Guided by Sayaka sensei, Yuya sensei and Junpei sensei, I gained so much more confidence and knowledge in my Japanese ability.
Sayaka sensei is a wonderful teacher and has the ability to explain Japanese in a way that is easily understood by a native English speaker. She is patient, kind, encouraging and always happy to help.
I recommend this course to anyone looking for a class at the pre-intermediate level or if you’re coming from 103. My advice to the student would be to make sure you participate and be prepared to make mistakes! Even if you don’t know, don’t hesitate to try!

I finished 104 a few weeks ago, and I honestly miss the class and the teachers so much!! I was a bit hesitant to take 104 because I felt like I was behind in the vocabulary, but that did not make the class any less fun. Sayaka 先生 is great at organizing the class so you are learning new concepts and practicing old skills at the same time. As a beginner 日本語 speaker, I’m really glad I took Sayaka’s classes. They were a great introduction to the language, and I’ve come so far!

I took 104 in the latter part of 2023 after having taken 102 and 103. The amount of material taught at the quality its taught it second to none! I feel like my Japanese jumped ahead light years by taking these classes! It’s also very obvious that Sayaka-sensei cares about each and every one of her students and wants them to succeed! She has probably been one of the (if not the) best teacher I’ve ever had! I cant recommended these classes enough and am constantly referring anyone who is interested in learning Japanese!

I started with Sayaka-sensei in 102, and I had previously taken Japanese at college. Sayaka’s class was the best class I’ve had for Japanese language instruction so far! Here’s why:
1. Every class and homework has speaking practice as a priority. You answer questions in Japanese during lesson review, talk with classmates in breakout rooms, and submit videos for speaking homework. Speaking practice is always best when it comes to learning a new language.
2. Every cohort gets chances to connect and become really close. Classes get a LINE chat, and our cohort made our own Discord server. You meet students in class for breakout rooms and for speaking homework. You make mistakes with your peers as you learn. This helps you make close, life-long friends.
3. Sayaka-sensei and her team are focused on encouraging your learning process. In college I was graded, and that meant I could lose opportunities if I graded poorly in Japanese class. Taking classes with Sayaka was so empowering because I was in control of my learning journey. Homeworks are graded here for you to improve, not for you to feel like you failed a grade.
For classes 104, 103, and 102, I recommend taking NihongoDekita. Learning a language is a life-changing experience – and I’m very happy to have done it with Sayaka-sensei and her team.

I had taken classes with Sayaka sensei from 102-104 and I can say I definitely improved A LOT. 104 provides a chance to utilize everything you learned, especially the grammar, from the previous courses. However, you come into a judgmental free zone. Sayaka sensei, Yuya sensei, and Jumpei sensei were always there to help you and correct you, especially to teach you how to speak like a NATURAL instead of textbooky. I miss having class with the sensei and other classmates but I’m glad I got to experience such a journey with everyone. Can’t wait to see some people at the meetup!

Nihongo Dekita is an amazing experience! After completing both 103 and 104, I can say that Sayaka sensei has put together a wonderful program that is very fun and engaging. Everyone was always so friendly and helpful and, even though it was difficult at times, Sayaka sensei had a way of explaining things that was both interesting and helpful. I felt like I improved so much in this environment. Hopefully, 201 is offered soon! If it is, I’ll definitely be taking it!
