If you're looking to really be able to speak Japanese and not just read and write it, NihongoDekita is a very conducive environment for it. I've gladly taken five courses with them now and find that their supportive environment is what brings me back and helps me to grow and flourish in the language. The teachers here aren't training students to just be able to take a proficiency exam. They genuinely want students to be able to comfortably and confidently speak Japanese. I've found it quite difficult to be embarrassed or scared of making mistakes when the teachers are so warm and encouraging. There are ample opportunities to practice using new grammar forms in class, and the weekly speaking homework recordings have been essential to being able to use grammar in daily conversation. The teachers put a commendable effort into providing detailed feedback and I never felt as if I was being judged or measured against some standard or benchmark of what a "good student or speaker" should be, which in turn allowed me to speak and practice Japanese even more. The class is a great mix of challenging and fun. I highly recommend the course, NihongoDekita, and taking advantage of their weekly office hours whenever possible.

Hands down the most fun way to learn Japanese! I've been studying with Nihongo Dekita for the past year, and with their help made more progress than I did in almost a decade studying on my own. The teachers are incredibly supportive and, while there is a lot to learn, the emphasis is on fun. I found this approach kept me motivated more than anything to continue learning. 11/10, I highly recommend the 202 Intermediate Japanese, or whichever course suits your ability level.

I've been studying with NihongoDekita since Japanese 102, and Japanese 202 was another really enjoyable experience. Sayaka-sensei and the other instructors make the classes friendly, comfortable, and fun. I've also made friends from around the world through the classes, especially when we'd meet up each week to do our speaking homework together.

One of the things I really like about the courses is getting to actually use the Japanese I've learned in conversation rather than only studying from a textbook. Over time, I've noticed that I can understand more Japanese in the media I watch and listen to, and I'll sometimes find myself naturally thinking of Japanese phrases in everyday life, which is a really rewarding feeling.

Another thing I really value is learning directly from Japanese teachers. They'll often explain what Japanese people would naturally say in a situation, including expressions and nuances that you might not pick up from a textbook. I really value being able to ask those kinds of questions and learn how Japanese is actually used.

Overall, I've really enjoyed learning with NihongoDekita. The teachers are patient, explain things clearly, and create an environment where learning Japanese is genuinely enjoyable. I plan on returning to NihongoDekita after taking a break and continuing with Japanese 203! :)

This course was great. It taught us how to express regret, say what we should have done, how to talk about doing two things simultaneously, using honorific language, differences between transitive and intransitive verbs, and so much more. After taking only 3 courses, I found the confidence to make a life changing move and was able to move to Japan. It took some effort and a lot of job applications, but I’m so happy I put the effort in and highly recommend Nihongodekita courses. The teachers are all really nice, and provide great feedback on homework. Mistakes are encouraged, because you learn quicker after making them, but you’re never shamed for it. Thanks you for the great content and all the help!

This is the fifth course I have taken from Nihongodekita. I have spent the last two years on a journey with Sayaka-san and the other excellent instructors. I recommend them highly. There are probably lots of ways to learn Japanese through multiple companies or institutions. I am sure they are all good at teaching the language. The purpose of language though, is to create connection, establish relationships. And I cannot name another educational experience in my life that allowed me to establish this many interesting and different relationships. I am truly grateful. George Marshall
