Hi guys, this is my Live Online Japanese 103 Upper Beginner Course. The course is designed to be fun, interactive, and informative. You must be able to understand the basic Japanese writing system, hiragana & katakana, particles, verb present/past tense in Japanese. (If you have done Japanese 102 you are eligible for this course)

Sayaka sensei is a great teacher and she really cares about her students.
She’s definitely not in for the money. Sayaka is teaching with all her heart and soul! And she’s so kind!
Additionally to the language course, you can book office hours, which are really helpful if you have questions and also there, Sayaka takes time for you to help you with your questions.

All I can say is that I am truly grateful for the experience I got within this course. Slowly I am getting better a conversing so much more and it’s a great feeling. I feel like with each class, this one included, I am given more and more skills in speaking, reading, and writing at a great pace. I had such a great time in 103! I started the 101 course with Sayaka sensei earlier this year with pretty much no Japanese language experience. 103 is a great progression from the 102 course. You learn lots of new conjugation and vocab that allow you to form more complex sentences. About half way through 103 I noticed that I was often finding myself able to translate the things I was doing or feeling day to day into Japanese in real time. (Definitely a Dekita moment). The speaking practice you get in class, combined with the feedback from both speaking & writing homework each week means you’re constantly improving. It can be intimidating learning a language, but Sayaka Sensei is such an incredible teacher, it makes the world of difference. She is always so encouraging and supportive that it makes the whole experience incredibly enjoyable. I constantly felt really supported by not only Sayaka Sensei, but also Yuya Sensei, Jumpei Sensei & my classmates. 103 is definitely a commitment & you need to be prepared to put the work in, but the results are 100% worth it. I can’t wait to start 104!

I’ve been learning Japanese with Sayaka Sensei and her incredible staff since Jpn101: Crash course, and the improvement in my proficiency has been remarkable. They are true professionals, providing top-notch instruction with a focus on real-life scenarios you’d encounter in Japan.

I took Japanese 102 with Sayaka先生 and the teacher(s), her teaching method, and the classroom environment made me want to take 103. I have no regrets and plan on taking 104. You will learn so much grammar, and vocabulary and even start to learn some Kanji. Learning the て form is a fundamental basic that you need to learn to really speak and understand like a Native but Sayaka and the other 先生 help taught it with ease. Thank you teachers and classmates for all your hard work and effort. Can’t wait to see you all in 104.

Studying from Japanese 101-103, I can say that 103 is the most challenging course. What I looked forward to the most was learning how to speak casually. There is a lot of new and useful vocabulary you will learn to help expand on your speaking abilities.

The class was fast paced but got really in depth with grammar, cultural relevance and practical application which I think makes this course unique. Really glad I took the class and looking forward to 103…and seeing all my classmates and teachers again!

I have taken 101, 102 and 103 classes in a row since November 2023 and Sayaka Sensei has been an amazing teacher. I had zero knowledge of Japanese when I first started. I never thought I can actually read, write and speak Japanese. I find myself pausing an anime just to see if I can read it. If I see any Japanese characters anywhere I stop and see if I can read it.
She has passion for teaching and cares a lot about her students. She genuinely wants you to succeed and will help you anyway she can. It melts her heart when she sees her students improve. You can see it in her facial expressions. She also has a great team of Jumpei and Yuya under her. Those guys are awesome. I make it a habit to practice as much as I can as it is working progress. I definitely recommend her. I’m not just saying that. She is great sensei!

I really enjoyed taking this class! We had a really fun group of people who were very motivated to learn! I’ve taken Japanese classes before in high school and some of college but I feel like I learned more valuable Japanese in just 10 weeks in the 103 course than anywhere else. There is a lot of information to retain, learn, and take in, but it really is worth it and useful. Sayaka, Jumpei, and Yuya are really great teachers and offer us great feedback during class and on homeworks. Sayaka and team are so patient and talented. They all answer questions with positive energy and add interesting cultural anecdotes whenever it makes sense, which is such a wonderful reminder that Japanese is a language steeped in culture (and, in some ways, very different from our own!). As for 103 itself, the pace picks up in the last half, so I’d recommend to have your mission statement nearby for when you have doubts about if you can do it or not (できるよ！諦めないで！) My favorite portion of 103 was learning casual/plain forms of speech, so much fun!

I was taking Japanese courses at a local center but was struggling to learn due to multiple factors. I found Sayaka Sensei online and liked her style of teaching so I thought I’d try a class.
I’m extremely glad I did as she, Jumpei Sensei, and Yuya Sensei are just incredible teachers. The material was broken down well and we learned not only the textbook teachings but also the more conversational teachings of the material.
I also signed up for the 104 class which I’m very much looking forward to.

This is my first time taking any sort of online course, and I’ve really enjoyed the whole process. I’d definitely recommend Nihongo Dekita to anyone looking to start learning Japanese, as it provides a really solid foundation for the language (speaking, listening, writing).
Sayaka sensei, Jumpei sensei, and Yuya sensei have been amazing teachers. They really create an environment that focuses on embraces the learning experience, emphasizing the importance of speaking and practicing even if we don’t feel confident in ourselves. Their guidance and attitude towards teaching others is something I’ve appreciated throughout the whole course.
There is a good amount of work, and your efforts play a big part in how much you’ll learn. But just know that Sayaka sensei and the other senseis (and your peers!) are there to help every step of the way. If you have the time and motivation to put in the effort, and I think you’ll really enjoy this class.

This was my second leap into learning Japanese with Nihongodekita and it was awesome! Sayaka-sensei and her team were exceptional with the clarity of teaching and very helpful – during the live classes and in emails/feedback if I had any questions about Japanese or the course in general. Their energy during the classes kept everything engaging. Due to time differences I personally could not join the live recordings but with their support and the ease of the learning material, it was mostly easy to navigate through and learn. Each class increased my love for the language and culture – through the challenging parts too!
My only little regret is being unable to get as much speaking practice as I should but I can hopefully use the office hours next time.

I’ve now completed a couple of Courses with Nihongo Dekita and I’ve enjoyed all of it! I have been able to see great improvement in myself and in my classmates who are undertaking their own learning journeys as well, and have managed to make some friends and meet some good people with their own reasons for learning. Being a part of the classes each week is always fun and I always seem to take new and useful information away from each session. All of the teachers at Nihongo Dekita have their own unique teaching style and knowledge to share. They all work very well together and will help you get the best out of the course. I previously took on an introductory course for Japanese at university but I have found that the learning I have undertaken with Nihongo Dekita has been by far more enjoyable to me, and I have gotten much further with my learning. I think having fun while you learn is important and I’ve had a great time learning Japanese. You can tell all of the teachers care about their students’ learning and will help you improve. If you’re looking to start learning Japanese then Nihongo Dekita is a great way to do it!
